She's older than you think. On the Twilight Zone episode "The Invaders" I didn't recognize her and estimated the actress to be late 30's/early 40's. She was 59 at the time having actually been born in the 19th century. In this photo from the 1920's she would be in her 20's. Definitely a sharp beauty in her youth (which lasted longer for her ;-) ), she didn't develop her "witchy" looks until very late.
Very nice photo. She taught school in the 1920's (1925-29?) in my hometown of Soldiers Grove, Wi. There seems to be no photos of her back in her teacher era, although if this photo was truly taken in the 20's, it may have been while she was teaching in Grove. I've been trying to make out the signature, probably the studio, in the lower right. It appears to start with 'chid' and end with 'hoff'. And the two numeric or alph characters below it are unreadable. Where did you get this original??
The photographer was Irving Chidnoff who photographed celebrities in New York at his studio at 550 Fifth Avenue in the 1920s and 30s. It's a beautiful photo!

What a looker! You would never identify Endora with this teen beauty! :-)

Agnes Moorehead was my mother's Soldiers Grove WI high school English teacher . Mom died in 2008 at age 101.
I once read somewhere that Ms Moorehead denied that she had ever taught in S. G. High
